MIDDLE SCHOOL SOUTH
December 20, 2023
This Week at GMSS
From the Desk of Ms. Murdock
Today was a wonderful time of enjoying our students, caroling in the hallways and karaoke in the cafeteria! These children bring me such joy!
We hope you have a wonderful holiday break! As quickly as the first semester has gone, the second one goes even faster! We have a lot of learning and a flurry of activity happening for the remainder of the school year. Please take some time for rest and be ready to set some goals for the next semester and come back ready to ROAR.
Safe and Happy Holidays and break to you all

BUSES
As a reminder, please know the time of your student's bus stop. We are happy to offer Here Comes the Bus as an aide for parents tracking their student's bus, but there may be some times when the app is not exact. We certainly do not want students to miss the bus, so please be sure your student is at their stop at the scheduled time. To remind yourself of your pickup time, visit our Transfinder page.
HEART & PRIDE
The Heart & Pride Nomination Form will remain available year-round and is open to any member of our staff, regardless of position.

Gahanna Lincoln High School will be virtually hosting their annual College Credit Plus (CCP) Informational Student and Parent meeting on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 6:30-8:30pm. The first hour of the meeting will include general CCP information from central Ohio colleges and universities, as well as a student panel with central Ohio CCP students. The second hour will highlight specific requirements from GLHS and time for Q&A. As shared on the Ohio Department of Higher Education's website, "College Credit Plus is Ohio’s dual enrollment program that provides students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking courses from Ohio colleges or universities. The purpose of this program is to enhance students’ career readiness and postsecondary success, while providing a wide variety of options to college-ready students, at no or limited costs to students and families." More information about the program can be found on the GLHS Academic's website. The link to this meeting, including more information, will be shared closer to the event.
Do not hesitate to reach out to our counseling team with any questions or concern.

POP TAB COLLECTION November 10 - January 9
Students and staff pop out and bring in your pop tabs. Collect the tabs during your family and friend gatherings over the Thanksgiving and winter break. Bring them into your homeroom from November to January. C3 will donate them to the Central Ohio chapter of the Ronald McDonald House. It’s an easy way to do something good and make a difference in the life of a seriously ill child. The winning homeroom of each grade level gets a popcorn party. The winner of each grade will get points toward survivors too.
