Approximately two dozen LHS students and sponsors traveled to Spain during Spring Break where they stayed with as many host families while participating in school activities with their peers at the host school and touring historical and cultural sites! This week, the LHS students and their families are returning the favor by hosting students from Spain, who likewise, will be attending school and school activities and a couple of area field trips including the Cosmosphere and Rock City near Minneapolis, Kansas. Thank you to LHS Spanish teacher SeƱora Puig for making this fantastic opportunity a reality!
Visiting City Hall
The students from Spain started their visit to Lyons by learning about the community and area by visiting with City Administrator Chad Buckley and Mayor Dustin Schultz.
Be A Champion in Life
Rich Jensen, from the National Be a Champion in Life Tour, visited with Lyons Middle School and Lyons High School students. He told his own story of making poor decisions and turning his life around and related it to our own students about the importance of making wise decisions and doing things the right way. Rich left autographed copies of his autobiography for our middle school and high school wrestlers and coaches. Learn more about the Be a Champion in Life Tour.
