LAUNCH DAY FOR SMHS STUDENTS & PROJECT 351
Project 351 alumni mentor, SMHS sophomore, SHREYA SHUKLA, and Project 351 ambassador, SMHS 8th grader, PRISHA BAJRACHARYA, attended Project 351's annual Launch Day on Saturday, January 14, 2024. There, they joined students from across MA to participate in community service projects. Pictured below are PRISHA, SHREYA and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll at the event.
We are proud and excited to partner with PROJECT 351 & the BOSTON CELTICS to bring the PLAYBOOK INITIATIVE to SMHS.

FRUITFUL MEDICAL MASTERY
WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU BANANAS, START SUTURING!
Mr. Steve Watson's 8th grade Engineering Medical Detectives (a.k.a. budding surgeons!) learned about femoral artery angioplasty, how to suture and performed surgery on some very yellow, potassium-packed patients!
i-READY WINTER DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS
Please keep an eye out for the i-READY middle school student reports that will be mailed home shortly. These reports show how your student has progressed in both Math and English Language Arts from the fall to the winter test administrations.
The i-Ready test is nationally normed and provides information in different areas of math & ELA. The report can help identify the areas where your middle school student exhibits strengths and the areas where more practice is needed. The purpose of sharing this information is to show your student’s growth and to partner with you in supporting your student both in and out of school. As with all assessments, i-Ready diagnostics reflect a moment in time.
If you would like to learn more about the i-READY program, here are some i-READY family resources.
As always, if you have any questions regarding i-READY or your student's i-READY report, please reach out to your child's ELA or math teacher or Mr. Andrew Collins, Mathematics Department Chair, or Mr. J.D. Stone, ELA Department Chair.
