Principal's Message
Hello Springwater Students and Families,
We have wrapped up our first week of quad 3! We are now more than halfway through the school year. Thank you to everyone for hanging in there during this challenging time! I also want to give a shout-out to every student who has persevered during this extraordinary school year. Please continue to talk to your teachers, stay after class, and email us if you have questions!
Similar to last quad, we have an 8th period CR class for students who did not earn credit in a core content class. We have reached out to students and families if this class will help you! We also continue to have daily academic support. See below for the updated days and times.
The district has decided to eliminate "F"s for this school year. In the next week or so, "F"s will disappear from Quad 1 and 2 transcripts and be replaced with an "NG" (No Grade). The NG will not negatively impact a student's grade point average. This will minimize the long-term negative impact distance learning may have had on transcripts and GPAs (grade point averages).
I know everyone is wondering: when do we get to come back to school?!? Last week the school board requested all staff be given the opportunity to complete their vaccinations prior to schools re-opening. This process has begun with elementary teachers and will progress to middle and high school teachers. We will keep you posted as the vaccination process continues over the next month or so. The high schools will begin with "limited in-person instruction" first: small groups of students who have academically struggled this school year. I look forward to the day when I can see student faces and hear student voices in our building again!
Stay safe and take care,
Ryan Blaszak

Attention Fred Meyer Shoppers
Springwater Trail High School is enrolled in the Fred Meyer Community Rewards program! Please link your Fred Meyer rewards card with our nonprofit number MU443. Fred Meyers will donate a percentage of your purchases every quarter to our program. This will NOT affect your reward points or fuel points. Last quarter we received $78.49, every little bit helps. This program helps pay for transportation to allow our students to attend events in the community. Below is the link to sign up.
Distance Learning Strategies
- Post a schedule of your classes close to your computer
- Set reminders for your classes on your phone / chromebook
- Find a quiet place to participate in Google Classroom meetings. (We understand this can be extremely challenging when everyone is stuck at home!)
- Work with family members to minimize disruptions during live class sessions.
- Remember engagement and communication are more critical than ever during distance learning. Communication is about human connection, understanding, and community: all of which are priorities for us and part of the reason you chose to attend Springwater!
- It can take time to become comfortable turning your camera on and there are other ways to show you are engaged. Below are some ways to communicate and engage during live class sessions:
-------> * Use your microphone to ask and answer questions.
-------> * Use the chat feature to ask questions and get clarification.
-------> * Let your teacher know (through the chat) if you have to step away from your computer for a moment.
