Hello McPherson Families,

This week, our general lottery for enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year will open on Tuesday, January 23. If you have friends or neighbors interested in attending McPherson next year, please share the information about the lottery with them.

This week, Leadership is having a Totally Thrilling Thursday lunch event and spirit day. Students may wear Western themed free dress. Also, PTSA is hosting a Family Game night on Friday, 1/26. Please RSVP using the link in the newsletter.

McPHERSON GENERAL LOTTERY INFORMATION FOR 2024-2025

McPherson will hold a virtual lottery orientation and will also be using a third party online lottery software system, Lotterease. On Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, Mrs. Godsey will host a live orientation about McPherson and the process for applying to our lottery. The live session will be at 9:00am using Microsoft Teams. A link for the virtual meeting will be posted on our webpage on Monday, January 22nd. If you are unable to attend the live meeting, the link to the recording will be posted on our website at the conclusion of the meeting. During the orientation, parents will be given directions on how to register for a Lotterease account. Directions are also on our webpage. The lottery will be open for applications on Tuesday, January 23rd, 10:00am to Thursday, January 25th at 3:30pm. Parents will be sent an email from Lotterease confirming that the lottery application was received. The lottery draw will be run via Lotterease on Wednesday, January 31st at 9:00am. Parents will receive confirmation from Lotterease of their lottery number and enrollment status (accepted or waitlisted) via email by 3:00pm on Wednesday, January 31st. Students who are accepted to McPherson will have 5 calendar days from the date the email is sent, to accept enrollment or the lottery spot will be given to the next student on the waitlist.

Put on your Western Gear for Totally Thrilling Thursday on January 25. Wear your Western Shirts and Hats. Games and Music at Lunch provided by your Leadership Class - NO BOOTS OR WEAPONS. Please follow the free dress guidelines. Students not adhering to appropriate dress policy on free/special dress days will be sent to the office and required to change clothes. Parents will be contacted to provide change of clothes or student will be given uniform clothes to change into. Students in violation of the dress code may lose the privilege to participate in future free dress days.

Our Family Game Night is coming up! Friday 1/26 5:30 to 7:30pm. We will have concession stand food available for purchase.

But, we need your help! Please RSVP and let us know if you are joining us and if you can volunteer to make the event a success.

We are also in need of prize donations ($10-$20) - this is a GREAT opportunity to donate any extra items from holidays :) These donations can be dropped off in the front office by 1/24.

supporting the cause to make sure that 33% of the proceeds will be donated to McPherson Magnet School.

The end of the year 8th grade party needs a parent committee. We have a few volunteers but need more to make the event a success! The party typically takes several months to plan, organize and get materials together to have a successful event, put on by the 8th grade parents. Please e-mail Mrs. Ober at aober@orangeusd.org if you are interested in being on the 8th Grade Promotion Party committee or chairing the event.

Attention McPherson Parents. We will be having a College and Career Fair on Monday, March 4 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. If you would like to be a presenter or a volunteer at the College and Career Fair, please complete the linked survey below at your earliest convenience. You can present or volunteer at the fair for the whole day or part of the day depending on your availability.
