November 3, 2020 is election day and it is right around the corner. Our students will be on a scheduled holiday on this day while staff will participate in professional development.

Nine Weeks Assessments

The 9 weeks assessment window will be open from 11/9 - 11/13. Students will receive instructions from their teacher on the administration of each exam.

November 2nd, Next Steps: All Are Welcome and Transitions

Nov. 2 marks the end of the second four weeks of school and the period of time the Texas Education Agency granted school districts to phase students back in to on-campus learning. According to TEA attendance and enrollment guidelines, beginning week nine, school districts must offer on-campus instruction at all grades levels, every day for every student whose parent or guardian wants them to access on-campus instruction. Additionally, TEA has indicated that the model of instruction where students access the online curriculum on-campus will no longer be funded after the first 8 weeks of school. This means middle and high schools must offer face-to-face instruction making it necessary for students to transition between class periods.

Beginning Nov. 2, we will be welcoming all students who wish to return to campus for on-campus learning, while still offering the option of remote learning. Middle and high school level students will receive more face-to-face instruction, which will involve physical transitions between class periods.

Classroom Capacity:

In some instances this change has resulted in a small number of AISD classrooms exceeding the capacity level currently recommended for schools
We have been preparing for this possibility
In most cases, even at the increased capacity, we are able to maintain recommendations for social distancing within our school.
We are committed to maintaining open, two-way communication and will inform our campus community if a classroom is at more than 50% capacity.
