The Principal's Pound
Self-care is a practice that benefits everyone, not just students. As adults, we are constantly running around doing things for others and putting our needs to the side. How often do you pause and breathe? How often do you take time to do something that puts a smile on your face? Try this week to take, even 5 minutes, to focus on you and whatever you need to do to put a smile on your face. It could be taking a walk outside, grabbing a coffee in the morning, watching a show, or reading a book. Everyone is unique in what works for them, AND everyone needs to fill their bucket!
If you have ever traveled on a plane with a young child and paid attention to the safety speech at the beginning. They always say to put on your mask first and then help those around you. This analogy is applicable with life. You need to take care of yourself before you can help others.
As always, please let me know how I can help you as an individual or family, so we can be the best supportive team for your student!
Enjoy your week ahead!
