North Mock Trial
North students have been competing in district competitive trials for Mock Trial. Rounds one and two were at the Ramsey County Courthouse in St. Paul, and round three was conducted via Zoom. Round four on February 7 will also take place on Zoom. This year is the first time trials have been in person since 2020.
In round one North defeated St. Paul Central. Round two North lost to a team from Parnassus Preparatory School and North defeated another team from Parnassus in round three. North will face Nova Classical Academy in round four.
After each trial students from North select an outstanding attorney and an outstanding witness from their opponent. Receiving those honors for North through three rounds are:

Love Story
Tickets are on sale for LOVE STORY: Tartan Theatre's valentine's day cabaret. Featuring iconic songs like "Mamma Mia" (Mamma Mia) and "Can't Help Falling in Love" (All Shook Up) along with new hits like "Satisfied" (Hamilton), "Unruly Heart" (The Prom), and "Seventeen" (Heathers), LOVE STORY is the perfect amalgamation of new & old stories about that silly little thing called love.
Performances are on Friday, February 10 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, February 11 at 1 p.m. Tickets can be purchased on tartantheatre.org, & 622 staff get in free with their badge at the door (or via an email to Hannah at hstout@isd622.org).
Rock the North Show Choir Competition
The 4th annual Rock the North show choir competition is this Saturday, February 11, at North High School. Join North High's Northern Lights Show Choir as they host show choirs from across Minnesota and Wisconsin. More information can be found on the Rock the North website.
Dr. Talaya Tolefree book reading
Author Dr. Talaya Tolefree will join us on Zoom for our early learning family event for NAAPID and read her very inspirational book "Creative Crown." She will also be reading another confidence builder "Jabari Jumps." Both books are available on amazon if you'd like to pick them up to follow along during the live reading, but it's not a requirement at all. Friday Fun for Pre-K (on days Pre-K class is not in session)
Have your little one join us for a Friday arts and crafts fun-filled morning at the end of each month when classes aren’t in session! Adults are not required to stay with students for class.

Ages: 3-5
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Cost: $40 ($20 for those who qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch)

Nominations are now open for the 622 Education Foundation Award of Excellence.
Graduating seniors who possess one or more of the following characteristics is eligible for this award: community, courage, imagination, achievement, integrity, and resilience.
Nominations are due by Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Staff, peers, community members, and businesses can nominate students.
NOTE: Parents/guardians cannot nominate their own child.

North alum Carolyn Wiger on Survivor
North alum Carolyn Wiger, daughter of former State Senator Chuck Wiger, will compete on the 44th season of Survivor. The season will premiere on CBS, March 1 at 7 p.m.
