The Board of Education provides a "Board Meeting Summary" after each Board meeting. The summary includes a brief description of the main topics and action items. These summaries are not meant to replace minutes. The minutes for each meeting are approved and posted after the next regularly scheduled meeting. We hope these summaries provide some basic information and context around the reports, presentations and action items. NOTE: In the interest of safety for Board and staff members, as well as the school community, the meeting format was adjusted. Due to current Executive Order requirements social distancing guidelines were in effect.

• FY 22 Budget Development Calendar | watch
  Assistant Superintendent for Finance, Facilities and Operations Eric DePorter presented the budget development calendar. Due to the pandemic, he is suggesting that we push this calendar back, but still within the acceptable budgeting window.

• Academic Update | watch
  Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning and Accountability Dr. Katie McCluskey presented the student performance data representing the performance of those who took the MAP and ISEL tests. She went through the data for every grade level and outlined what to expect in the next two months and summer. Board members asked questions and provided comments on the data.

• Transportation Contract Extensions | watch
  Mr. DePorter presented information about First Student and Hopewell busing contracts that are shared with three other districts. He explained why the district is recommending an extension of the current contracts. It will be presented to the Board for action at the second meeting in April.

• Approve the Glen Ellyn School District 41 Reopening Plan | watch
  Dr. Kaczkowski presented descriptions of the proposed full in-person model and the full remote model for approval by the Board. Board members asked questions and discussed offering the full in-person model starting on April 19. They also discussed mandatory COVID-19 saliva testing for students as it is presented in the proposed plan. The Board supports mandatory testing for students who attend fully in person.
