PTAA ROCKET REVIEW
December 2, 2022
Note from the Principal
It is mind boggling that we are quickly coming upon our Winter Break and the end of the first semester! The kids are growing in stature and knowledge... just amazing! As always, we thank you all for partnering with PTAA.
Our Middle of the Year (MOY) STAR (K-7) and Dibels (K-3) testing window has opened. Teachers will choose a date/dates to compete MOY that will work with their class curriculum daily plans. We will ask them to send a REMIND out a day or so before the planned assessment date(s). We would ask that you talk with your children to remind them to take their time, don't rush through and try their best!
Yesterday, we submitted the Application for Exapansion to District 49 or our Highschool PTECH plans. We will keep you updated on the next steps which will include opportunity to show support by unity at a District 49 Board of Education Meeting. Though we are still more than another school year out, this takes major planning in many different directions. Even for our families with younger students, who may be thinking "why would I want to have a stake in the High School program when my child is far from High School;" there are many ways that our PTECH MS/HS campus would benefit our younger learners. The MS/HS campus will bring a wonderful Rec Center which will be open for extra curricular sports and programs, including swimming, basketball/volleyball courts, indoor jogging and so much more. We will offer even more summer programming, and STEAM opportunities that open the door for future life planning by offering Industry Volunteer guest speakers, mentoring, career weeks, job fairs and other community events. They say it "takes a village" to educate and "grow" our kids and we know to best educate the whole child, it is best if we are in this together from the beginning through the years.
Have a wonderful weekend and we will see everyone on Monday!
