BSB831 HERIPRENEURSHIP project
Establishing long-lasting partnerships to upgrade heritage-based offers and create new investment opportunities in tourism and the cultural and creative industries at UNESCO designated areas in the Black Sea basin.
- You should know that this project is meant to help preserve and promote the national cultural heritage of 6 Black Sea Basin Countries. Important monuments and themes from Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Moldova, Georgia and Romania, representing a vivid memory of our ancestors traditions and values, will be analysed and capitalised.
- Another major goal is to increase tourism in the BSB Region and create a new, up-to-date model for presenting cultural destinations, that will appeal to people of various generations.
A visit to the geolocations included in the project from Trabzon (Turkey) was carried out

The main purpose of this visit was to analyse the locations and prepare for the shooting of a promo video, that will be used by all project stakeholders in order to tell the story of these places.
The excavations on the site of Philippi, Greece
The excavations on the site of Philippi began in 1914 and was resumed after the Second World. Nowadays, the archaeological exploitation of the site is carried out by the Archaeological Service, the Aristoteleian University of Thessaloniki and the French School of Archaeology at Athens.
SUMELA MONASTERY – the pılot case of DOKA, the Turkish partner in the project
Sumela Monastery (The Monastery of Virgin Mary), which is a UNESCO heritage site and a HERİPRENEURSHİP project pilot area in Turkey has reopened to visitors after after the completion of more than five years of restorations. Monestry was closed in 2015 due to a risk of falling rocks from nearby Mt. Karadag.
