Weekly Reflection from Dr. Mullenschlader
Thank you for coming to Back to School Night. We hope you liked the new format. Our focus was to get you the information you needed as parents and to let you know that we are partnering with you in supporting your child. We were grateful to see everyone and appreciate the level of support that we have received to start the school year.
This Friday our teachers have their first professional development day of the school year. These days are so valuable to us, and we will use them effectively. We recognize the challenge that it may pose for some families, but our teachers need opportunities to grow. Our goal is to use these days for faith formation and teaching formation. It is imperative to increase our skills as teachers and grow as Catholics through the process. Stay tuned throughout the year to learn how we are using these days to become better teachers and people.
This week I wanted to reflect on a quote from Mother Theresa a stalwart of faith. Her feast day is just around the corner. She is a model for us as Catholics and she communicated how to live faith so simply. She said, "Holiness is not something extraordinary, not something for only a few. Holiness is for every one of us. It is a simple duty: the acceptance of God with a smile, at all times, anywhere and everywhere." When you see your child smiling, know they are fulfilling God's call for us to live the joy of holiness. Have a blessed weekend!
