Dallas Baptist University has a well established Criminal Justice program with immense law enforcement support. Several undergraduate and graduate students in attendance shared their insight and experiences in the degree programs as well as testimony on college life. This event gave the students the opportunity to understand what education, training, and work requirements needed to pursue careers in Law Enforcement.
Fashion Marketing Cluster: Skyline High School
Skyline DECA ll has become a part of the #ATTDECAProject!!! AT&T brings in volunteers to spend time with my DECA scholars. On October 17, 2023, in the first session we learned about time management. In this session we were abel participate in the "Lost at Sea" team-building activity.

Law Enforcement/ Law & Public Service: Bryan Adams High School
Students from the Bryan Adams High School Law Enforcement Program of study visited the George Allen Dallas County Courthouse, on October 19, 2023. Students were greeted by the Honorable Judge Vonda Bailey, where the judge engaged with the students by responding to direct questions and offering insight about career experiences, degrees in education, licensure and training. The court reporter shared her expertise in the much needed, high demand and high wage career of stenography.
In the courtroom with Honorable Danielle Diaz, students were able to witness an active case in the family court with a divorce couple petitioning for a revision of the child custody and child support. Most of the students could not believe that all details of the case are accessible to the public with the judges verdict. Every student walked away with a more open mind and awareness of how the roles of law enforcement impact the community.
The student observed the level-two non-commissioned security officers check incoming visitors belongings through the metal detectors and x-ray machines. Students also observed how the bailiff kept the oder in the courtroom as fully armed level-three commissioned officer. This was an amazing field trip and hope more campuses have the same opportunity.
