Important Attendance Information
If you need to pick up your child during the school day, text them the time they need to leave class to meet you, or you can also send a note. Students should show their teacher the text or note before class starts to let them know they need to leave class early.
Parents DO NOT need to come into the school building to check out your child. Please email the attendance line, ghs.attendance@bsd7.org, to notify GHS of the time you need them to be excused.
Professional appointments (medical, dental, counseling, physical therapy, etc.):
Please ask the provider for a note showing name, date and time of appt. and have your child bring it to the attendance office when they return.
The absence will be recorded as medical which does not count towards the 10 day absence limit.
The provider is also welcome to fax the note to 406-522-4622, or email to ghs.attendance@bsd7.org
Attendance Errors:
If your student was marked absent from a class and says they were there, have them talk with the teacher. If the teacher agrees an error was made, the teacher can contact the attendance office to make the correction. This correction needs to be made within 5 days.
Gear up for Fall
Student Drop off and Student Parking
Last year we had 30 motor vehicle accidents on campus, ten hit-and-run accidents, and more than ten reckless driving complaints. We are seeking everyone’s help in reducing these numbers this school year and increasing safety for our students.
Things everyone can do to help make our campus safe:
Slow down
Do not use the bus lane from 7:45-8:45 a.m. or from 3:30-4:15 p.m.
Be polite and share the road
Parents/Guardians - Please use identified areas for student drop off to alleviate traffic congestion in student and staff parking lots. See the map below. Please do not drop off students in staff parking lots or the bus lane to alleviate traffic flow in these areas.
Students - Please be sure you are a current junior or senior with a registered parking pass if you are parking on campus. Your parking pass must be visible at all times. If you do not have a parking pass, you may park on Annie Street or other surrounding streets. If you do not have a parking pass or a pass is not visible in your vehicle, you may be cited and any rebuttal will have to be made through city hall.
As a reminder, this year juniors and seniors will be eligible for parking passes to park on campus. We are issuing parking passes this week and Monday, September 11, we will begin enforcing the parking policy.
Thank you to all of the clubs who participated in the club fair!
