Dear Atkinson Community,

I hope you have plans to enjoy your family and friends during the Thanksgiving Break. The Educational Assistants, Paraeducators, Administrative Assistants, and I will continue to work through the end of Tuesday. Please call or email if we can support you in any way.

If you are one of the 11 families accessing online reading coaching, please stay in touch with your Reading Coach to confirm schedules for next week given that some of the coaches will be attending a training on Tuesday.

Also for next week, Parent Teacher Conferences and the Book Fair have unfortunately been cancelled. Once a tentative agreement is achieved, we will have a better idea of if/when the Teacher Planning Day, Parent Teacher Conferences, and Report Cards will be rescheduled. After that, I will work with Atkinson staff to make a decision about the Book Fair.

The school office will be open Monday and Tuesday of next week from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and closed for the remainder of the week.

Come down and check for items in the Lost & Found next week! We'll put it out front on Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For families accessing online learning during the strike, the district has updated the activities available on the Seesaw platform. More information HERE.

There will be no meal service the week of November 20–24. If the strike continues, meal service will resume Tuesday–Thursday, November 28–30.

If you requested a Chromebook for your student and would like to come pick it up, we have them available in the school office on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. The office will be open Monday and Tuesday of next week, but closed for the Thanksgiving holiday.

We need parent volunteers to help serve lunch for 20 minutes:

• K–2: 11:35–11:55 a.m.
• 3–5: 12:05–12:25 p.m.

If you are able to help us 2–5 days per week, and can commit through the end of December, please fill out THIS FORM. And you get a free lunch!

Atkinson’s Basketball Program is back! Registration is now open for all players, including K–2 students for the open gyms and grade 3–5 players for team play. More information HERE.

The Champions Program has gotten approval to run programs next week Monday - Wednesday, November 20 - 22 at both Buckman Elementary and Woodstock Elementary.

• Wednesday, November 22 – Friday, November 24 — NO SCHOOL, Thanksgiving holiday
  
• Thursday, December 7 — Principal's Coffee in English, 8:50 a.m.
• Friday, December 8 — Principal's Coffee in Spanish, 8:50 a.m.
• Wednesday, December 13 — Amigos Meeting via Zoom, 6:30 p.m.
• December 18 – January 1 — NO SCHOOL, Winter Break
