December's Character Focus: Compassion
The Shannon Park Acts of Character Program revolves around teaching, promoting and recognizing positive character traits in students. During the month of December, we will be focusing on the character trait of Compassion.
Thank You for Your Generosity!
Thank you for your participation as a family in this year's community service project! This partnership with Rosemount Family Resource Center provided a tangible way for our students to practice gratitude and compassion. As a school community, we filled up six tables with food and hygiene products. We are excited to find out how many pounds of donations came in! Stay tuned!
So much has been happening in Preschool. We have entered into our nature unit and we are learning how the changes happening outside impact our daily lives. We are learning how to dress for the weather and are practicing getting dressed to play outside independently. We have been exploring the woods and love to build stick houses and climb trees. On the playground, a favorite game is Mr. Wolf. We are currently in the middle of one of our favorite activities in Preschool, pet rocks. Each child has selected a rock, painted and decorated it, named it, answered interview questions, and created a house for the pet rock to live in. We have also been having fun in our dramatic play area. It has been a pet clinic, dinosaur dig, and post office. The children have been writing letters to their friends and families. The children are getting more and more comfortable every day and we have seen so much growth already this year.
Shannon Park School Spirit Day: "Cozy Day"
Each year, the Kindness Council brainstorms school spirit days. "Cozy Day / Pajama Day" is taking place on Friday, December 15. All students and staff are invited to wear cozy clothes or pajamas.
