RSV Notice:
There have been a few reported cases of RSV in school this week. The symptoms are usually confused with a cold but can escalate quickly. If your child has persistent symptoms please check with their MD for an evaluation. Thank you!
RSV Symptoms:
- Runny nose.
- Fever.
- Cough.
- Short periods without breathing (apnea)
- Trouble eating, drinking, or swallowing.
- Wheezing.
- Flaring of the nostrils or straining of the chest or stomach while breathing.
- Breathing faster than usual, or trouble breathing.
BRRR~ It's cold outside! Please remember to send a warm coat,
Hat and Gloves for recess. We have only a few extras to loan out.
(even if it's raining in the morning, it may be nice for recess time).
Our Lost and Found is growing, encourage your child to grab any
forgotten items from the cafeteria!
Screenings Notice:
We have begun our yearly required screenings for Vision and Hearing.
Our 1st graders also will have a BMI screening per state guidelines.
If you wish to opt out of BMI, we need a note and current physical on file.
BMI screening will begin after winter break.
Illness Reporting:
This is a reminder to please let us know if your child has been diagnosed with
Covid, Strep, or Flu so we may track any trends of increased illness.
When to Stay Home Sick:
Fever over 100.4. Please stay home until fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medications.
Vomiting: please stay home until 24 hours vomit free.
Undiagnosed/New rash. Please see an MD for diagnosis prior to returning to school.
Please follow MD advice on return plans after diagnosis for Strep, Flu or Covid.
** Reminder: The school health office is not able to give over the counter cold medications, or cough drops. Please do not send those items into school with your child.**

Physical Literacy–Move to Learn!!
Physical literacy is essential for elementary school students as it not only helps them develop fundamental motor skills like running, jumping, and throwing but also fosters a love for physical activity. Physical literacy enhances a child’s self-confidence and social interaction which helps to contribute to a well-rounded and confident individual. Physical literacy enhances students’ cognitive development, fostering improved concentration, problem-solving skills, and overall academic performance.
