Parent Participation News
What is Parent Participation?
The Parent Participation Program serves two purposes:
To teach students the value of community service by observing their parents and family members working for the good of their school, Parish, and others.
To minimize costs, reserve funds to save for school equipment and improvements, and keep tuition rates low.
Parents are asked to dedicate time each year to support a variety of school and parish activities. This way, every family who participates plays a role in ensuring the success of the Parent Participation Program for the benefit of all.
If you have opted out of Parent Participation and will pay $1250.00, you will not need to sign up for your OnVolunteers Parent Portal.
What is OnVolunteers?
St. Patrick's School is changing to use an online program, On Volunteers, to make it easier to track participation hours in the program. The new system automates and simplifies the Parent Participation process. There is no fee for parents to use this system. Each family will have their own unique password-protected website, aka ‘portal’, where they can sign up for tasks, record their hours, and communicate with coordinators.
Your login information will be sent out in September.

What type of tasks will be posted on OnVolunteers?

Teachers may require assistance with work, such as preparing classroom materials, creating costumes, cleaning toys and materials, etc.

It will also be helpful for you to update your parent portals to include your skills and talents.
How will tasks be allocated?
What if I cannot attend a task I have signed up for?
If you sign up for a task and you are unable to attend, please update it in your portal by removing your sign up on OnVolunteers no later than 48 hours before the expected start time. This allows for others to sign up for the job.
If you sign up for a task and do NOT attend or complete the task three times, you will be billed $125.00 (an equivalent to one month's payment).
When are the hours due?
Any request to approve adjustments to Parent Participation hours after the May 31st deadline are at the discretion of the PEC. If approved, such requests may be subject to an administrative fee.
Next year parents can begin volunteering prior to the start of the school year in the summer.
What if I do not fulfill all my hours?
You will be given updates by the system, but it is up to YOU to track your hours and to ensure you complete the necessary hours to avoid paying.
