FJVD Weekly Info...
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear FJVD Families,
How quickly the days of August have come and gone, and suddenly we find ourselves just a week and a half away from the start of school. Over the past week, teachers have been hard at work in their classrooms, diligently preparing for the year ahead. We are certainly blessed with an exceptional staff here at Fr. Doyle!
I would like to inform you of a change to our middle school faculty. Ms. Tripp, our 7th and 8th grade language arts and resource teacher, has accepted a new position and will not be returning for the 2019-2020 school year. We are grateful for all of her hard work, and we wish her the very best in her future professional endeavors!
With this in mind, we are excited to welcome back to Fr. Doyle Mrs. Collette Maynard, who will be filling the middle school language arts, literature, and resource position. Mrs. Maynard previously taught middle school ELA and fifth grade at Fr. Doyle School from 2008-2018. Her familiarity with the Fr. Doyle community and years of teaching experience make her an exceptional addition to our staff. You can learn more about Mrs. Maynard below. Please join me in welcoming her back in the weeks ahead!
I also want to let you know that our middle school cross country season will officially begin with our first practice on Thursday, August 22nd from 5:30-6:30pm at the school. All students in grades 6-8 are welcome to attend, no previous running experience is required. See below for more details.
I look forward to seeing many of you at our Back to School Barbecue in just one week! Do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns for the start of the year. Best wishes for the remaining days of summer!
Go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin

FJVD Welcomes Back Mrs. Collette Maynard!

FJVD Certificate Program Runs Through the Summer!
This program is a great way to reduce the cost of your tuition while supporting FJVDl!
The Process:
- The school purchases shopping cards from all of your favorite stores
- You purchase the cards from the school, paying face value and spending the same dollars you would have paid to the stores directly
- The school earns a percentage discount offered by participating stores.
For each $50.00 you spend, you get a stamp on your Tuition Discount Card. Fill the entire card and redeem it for a $75.00 tuition credit!
Cards currently available include:
Stop & Shop, Applebee's, Barnes & Noble, Dave's, Dunkin Donuts Panera, Wal-Mart and more!
Stop by the school Wednesdays from 10am-12pm or in the vestibule after the 7:30, 9:30 and 11:30am Sunday Masses to purchase your gift cards!
Shop with Amazon Smile!

Keep saving those Box Tops!
Don't forget to save your Box Tops over the summer for next year!
See the letter below for information on uploading Box Tops to the new Box Top App!
Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs over the summer and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room when you return in August!
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up Father John V. Doyle School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
