May Virtue: Diligence
Our school is participating in a Virtues in Practice program this year. Each month, the whole school focuses on the same virtue as they hope to grow closer to Jesus by imitating His life and virtues. We also learn more about the saints who exemplify these good habits. This month students are learning about the virtue of Diligence. During the month of May, please model how you do your best and work hard until you’re finished.
Multi Child Scholarships / Tuition Aid
FAW Multi-Child Tuition Grants are available for families who submitted an application for archdiocesan tuition assistance through TADS. These grants are for both families with multiple children enrolled at FAW as well as those families with one enrolled child and demonstrated need. For those who are seeking a multi child scholarship, forms are available on our website. Please click HERE to access them. Multi child scholarship paperwork is due by this Friday, May 5th.
Thank you Bakers!
Thank you to all of our fabulous bakers who supplied treats for the bake sale after Masses at St. Aloysius Church. It led to many generous donations to help our Destination Imagination teams in their efforts to make it to the Globals competition later this month.
May 8th-12th: Pie and Dollars for DI
Destination Imagination is hosting a week of fun culminating in their Pie for DI along with their Dollars for DI event! Starting Monday, May 8th, students can bring in their coins/cash to vote on the teachers that they want to see get a pie to the face on Friday May 12th during an epic Pie for DI assembly! Twelve teachers are ready to take their chances! Any teacher that collects $200 (or more) will get pie'd! Students can also purchase raffle tickets ($1/each) to try to win the chance of throwing a pie in their teacher's face! Money can be brought in any day next week.
On Friday, May 12, during Dollars for DI, students will get a chance to buy treats and goodies during lunch for our special Dollars for DI day! Students can also buy chances at some fun brain games during recess. All treats and games are $1/each. We are looking forward to culminating our week in a big way with Pie for DI and our Dollars for DI! The Destination Imagination Global Finals teams thank you very much!
Sincerely,
The DItermined (Fuzz) Wonders and the Things
Destination Imagination Global Finals 2023!
We are excited to announce that two of our Destination Imagination (DI) teams from Father Andrew White School are two of the top-scoring DI teams in the state of Maryland and now have the opportunity to present their Challenge solution at the DI Global Finals in Kansas City, Missouri —an international competition where they will compete against teams from around the globe.
Please consider donating to help these teams get to the Globals competition!! Destination Imagination is an educational, academic program that has helped our students learn and practice valuable skills like creative and critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork through different competitive, STEAM-based (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) Challenges.
The teams are working hard to raise the $5,500/team registration fee plus the almost $1,000/student it will take to get them there to experience this amazing opportunity! Raising $20K in only one month’s time is daunting, but they are DItermined!!! Every gift is a blessing and we truly appreciate your support! Thank you so much for your contributions.

Do you ever find yourself searching for ways to strike up a conversation with your children? Or when you try to talk to them, you’re met with resistance and one word answers? Trust me, you’re not alone! As children go through different developmental stages (and actually throughout life), their ways of communicating also change. It’s often hard for them to put things into words, whether it’s initiating a conversation or responding to things being told to or asked of them. Every Friday Principal Szoch sends out an email reviewing highlights of the week for each grade. This is a great way to check in with your children about things going on in their lives. I have recently been visiting students in some of the grades and discussing how to take care of ourselves and stay healthy. If you get a chance, maybe you ask them to see what things they suggest - you might even learn something!
