Ben-Hem Bobcats
The Bi-Weekly Update from Bennett-Hemenway Elementary School
Things to Know:
- CORE VALUES GAME SHOW WAS A HUGE SUCCESS: Our 4th grade team, students and teachers, taught the rest of our community about our core values: We Take care of Ourselves, We take Care of Each Other, and We Take Care of our World through friendly competition and active modeling. The teams, students vs teachers, took on a variety of challenges to show how our core values come alive through our daily actions at Ben Hem. The end score was Students 4 - Teachers 2. We learned together and had fun together! What's better than that?
- KIDS HEART CHALLENGE IS HAPPENING! It’s time for the Kids Heart Challenge! This is our voluntary community service for the American Heart association in conjunction with our Jump Rope Unit and Healthy Heart Month (February). Did you know that heart disease is the No. 1 killer of all Americans, 80% of it may be preventable through lifestyle changes? For 40 years they have been teaching children the importance of heart-healthy habits – a foundation for the rest of your child’s life. This service-learning program will also share with your child the inspirational stories of children who have been touched by this disease while they raise funds to help kids like them and save and improve all lives. - BEN HEM HAS TALENT IS COMING BACK: Stay tuned for more information about the return of the Ben Hem Talent Show! Holly Chin, Parent and Theater Production expert is running this event on Friday, April 5 at Wilson Middle School. We can't wait to see the talents that our Bobcats share. More information to come.
