- Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month - Flyer for May events with multiple events attached below. Our very own Nara is part of the panel! You can register now - I myself am excited about these events!
- Glenview Park District - Spring and Summer registration is now open!
- I would be happy to help any family but I also would highly recommend connecting with these two people in the community who know a lot about programs/camps and application processes:
Tammy Suarez - She works at the Park District in registration and is incredibly helpful and sweet. I know she's helped families make the best selection for their child's interests. Bonus: she speaks Spanish and Greek! Her direct line at GPD is (224)521-2517 and her email is tammy.suarez@glenviewparks.org
Nélida Bahena Figueroa - She works at Youth Services as the intake person who processes all the scholarship applications for GPD, FC1 Academy, and LVOG. She is so patient and helpful with families and walks them through the selection process, the scholarship application process, and any questions. She will also be able to tell families about groups and camps at Youth Services. Bonus: she speaks Spanish and knows many of our families already from programs and groups at Youth Services! Her direct line at YS is (847) 724-2620 ext 142. - If questions about summer camp opportunities paid for by D34 come up, this is what we know so far: This year D34 will not be able to pay for this summer camp experience for McK-V families. Fortunately, the community is rallying together to continue this opportunity. We will share more details when we know!
Thank you,
ML team

My advice to young mathematicians: Don't be afraid to make mistakes! Don't be afraid to struggle! Mistakes are important. The learning is in the struggle. The more you struggle, the more you grow.
