Important Upcoming Dates
Barn Dance (which I have been calling the Harvest Dance)- Mr. Foster is bringing back the Harvest Dance! It's a family-centered school activity on October 28th from 6-7:30. CLICK HERE for more info.
GIS Halloween Celebration 10/31- Students will be allowed to come to school with their costumes. No masks will be allowed during the day, except for our Halloween parade at the very end of the day.
Please do not send your student to school with the following costume items:
- Weapons of any kind
- Excessive amounts of fake blood or makeup
- Scary props
- Please, no Rainbow Friends or Huggy Wuggy costumes.
Picture Re-Takes: 11/10/2022
Trimester 1 End: 11/11/2022, and report cards will be finalized shortly after that date.

Our Week
This is a time of year when we see students settle into their routines and become more comfortable with their peers. Students are starting to figure out friendships and boundaries, and with that comes an increase in adult vigilance to ensure kiddos are being kind and safe to each other. As a staff, we need to communicate with families when we notice patterns in behavior, so we can work together to support more positive and appropriate interactions.
Teachers have been asked to report student behavior to either Mr. Guernsey or the homeroom teacher if they were not around when the behavior occurred (ex., in a unified arts class), then to me. Teachers are the first to communicate with families and will ask me to support communication and problem-solving if concerns persist.
Our school needs to be safe for all students, and we are responsible for supporting the development of appropriate skills, so students can succeed. Working together with families will increase success and build a stronger relationships- that's our goal.
This week, we also had grades 3-6 head to Alburgh to harvest squash at a local farm. Healthy Roots grows squash which is distributed to local food shelves and the community. Students and teachers spent the morning working together for this great cause!

It's Budget Season- Here's How You Can Get Involved
