Word From The Woods
Bishop Woods School Newsletter - 12.6.2020
Greetings Bishop Woods Families,
I hope everyone had an enjoyable week. As we enter this holiday season, our children may be filled with excitement, but also anxiety, as this year may be different for many of our families. Please be sure to reach out to us if you have any concerns or are in need of supports. You can also make a referral to our SSST (please see info. highlighted below).
December is a difficult month for students to stay focused when we are in person, so I anticipate this will transpire to remote learning as well. Let's continue to work as a team to help our children be successful.
Please note that our Supply Distribution Event was RESCHEDULED to Saturday, December 12th from 9-11am (see flyer below). All families that attend will have the opportunity to win gift cards and prizes!
Save the Dates: In celebration of the holiday season, we will have an Ugly Sweater Contest on Friday, December 18th and PBIS Spirit Pajama Day on Wednesday, December 23rd.
Have a wonderful week ahead.

New Haven School Lunch Challenge...We Need ALL Families!
Take the "NHPS School Lunch Challenge" -- looking to recognize all who take part, every student, every family, the class with the most orders, the school with the most orders -- everyone please get involved...our school lunch program depends on it!
School lunches are for children 18 and under - teachers can pick up meals for their children too!
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS - We challenge you to get as many people out to the schools daily to get lunch and breakfast OR to order a meal box by calling: 475-220-1612.
THEN, repost this and ADD YOUR PICTURE of you, your family, AND/OR your Zoom classroom eating your lunch -- remember the more we eat, the stronger we get, and the more money we receive to feed everyone -- every student can do it! HELP OUR MEAL PROGRAM! It's easy.
Spotlight On K-8 Resource Project!
Here are the links to the K-8 Resource Project we wanted to share with our Bishop Woods Families in this month’s newsletter. A school newsletter is a powerful platform to use to showcase not only student work but their aspirations. Our students are all so different and we celebrate that every day! However, it is truly amazing to see that despite the wide range of ages, learning styles and temperaments it is refreshing and inspiring to know that one thing that holds them together is the ability to dream! We shared a video: A Million Dreams from the Greatest Showman and asked our students to exam the millions of dreams out there and how they can change everything for the better. The discussions were lively and very revealing! See for yourself. Dream On Bishop Woods!
