Happy February! We have had a very busy start to the new year. ELA & Math benchmarking was completed for all students. We are seeing great progress. This information has been used to evaluate small group instruction and strategies to support and enrich the learning of all students. All students will see our reading and math specialists in their classrooms and groups will be more flexible. In our math lessons we will assess students frequently and use that data for students to see our math specialist, Mrs. Martin. These groups will be flexible and based on skills. We thank all of our families for the support they provide at home. Reading with your children and practicing their fluency is so important to grow as readers.

Please remember to form two lines on each side of the parking lot in the morning for drop off. We seem to be causing some congestion on Waverly Road in the morning. If we form two lines and merge into one we will make the morning commute a lot easier for our community. Thank you for your cooperation.

Students are invited to wear their favorite team jersey. Any team, any sport is acceptable! It will also be our February Game Day Blowout!

It is important to remember to send in excuses when your children are absent. You can email wavabsence@ahsd.org or send in a note. If you have a doctor's note you may send it in or scan it to the email. You may only write a parent note for 10 sick days per year. A doctor's note is required for any day after that. If you are traveling or attending a family event you have 5 Individual Field Trip (IFT) days per year. You must complete the form before you travel. Thank you very much for your cooperation.
