GOLF TEAM WINS SECTIONAL TITLE
Congratulations to the golf team for becoming Section 2 Class B Champions for the 1st time in school history! David Mooradian led the Warriors with a round of 80 (4th place). Josh Durocher shot an 82 (5th place) and Bryce Gaydushek shot an 85 (7th place).

FIRE PREVENTION WEEK AT ELEMENTARIES
It's Fire Safety Week! Area fire departments visited all three elementary schools to talk to students about fire prevention and gave a tour of the fire trucks. Thank you to all of our area fire fighters!
PEP RALLY KICKS OFF HOMECOMING

Some students opted out of the Pep Rally. As an alternative, the cafeteria served as a study hall.

SL@AMS BEGINS AT AMS
SL@AMS has started at Algonquin Middle School! For the first meeting, student members put together Halloween treat bags and festive bookmarks for the AMS Pantry Program.
WSL HOLDS K-5 ASSEMBLY, PINK-OUT
West Sand Lake Elementary School held its first K-5 assembly in a long time recently! Students and staff held a "pink-out" the same day to show their support for breast cancer awareness.
GIRLS BASKETBALL RECEIVES STATE TITLE RINGS
The girls basketball state championship team received their championship rings and unveiled their NYSPHSAA championship banner!

We had a great turn out for our AMS After School Modified Sports Event for our home modified volleyball match and football game! Thank you to the APO, Kiwanis Builders Club and the AMS Science Club for their help at the event!

CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM WORKS IN THE FIELD
Students in the Construction Technology Practicum have been working on installing foam board insulation and fire wrap in a new construction Westchester modular in town! The house will be the future home to the owner of Bradley Park Builders. Students have been learning about completing work in compliance to local ordinances and building codes. Teachers Mr. Kozlowski and Mr. Engel provide supervision and support while students complete the work with their team. The job has went so well already, they’ve already been invited back for the next one!
WARRIOR WEDNESDAY RETURNS
Algonquin Middle School students participated in the second Warrior Wednesday of the year. In addition to a circle discussion, students took on the team building challenge known as “Replication”.
LEARNING MATH USING BATTLESHIPS
In Mrs. Hicks´ Math 6 class, students practiced plotting ordered pairs and tried to sink their classmates ships!
FOSTER DOGS USED TO CONNECT STUDENTS TO READING
4th grade students at WSL have been reading Shiloh by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, and have had in-depth discussions about animal mistreatment/abuse. In addition, Mrs. Engel visited with her foster dogs. Mrs. Engel works with the organization Homeward Bound. Her visit activated the students' connection to the book!
FINDING MASS USING SEEDS
Students in 3G at WSL tried to find the mass of dry seeds before finding the mass of seeds soaked in water overnight last week. Then, they find the difference between the two masses. Gram weights can be so much fun!

October 2 was School Custodian Appreciation Day! We are thankful for all of the hard work that our amazing staff does on a daily basis.
AMS HOLDS FOOD DRIVE
This month, Algonquin Middle School is conducting a food drive challenge. If students achieve the goal of collecting 900 items, everyone at AMS will be allowed to dress up for Halloween!
COAT DRIVE ONGOING AT AMS, APHS
The APHS Young Activist Club is holding a coat drive for the Children's Cafe. The Club is collecting coats for children in need. There is box located at the high school and the middle school. All winter jackets are wanted.
