Principal Message
Dear Parents,
As we approach the end of another exciting school year, we want to extend our warmest wishes to all of you for a joyful and restful summer. This time of year is a wonderful opportunity to relax, recharge, and create lasting memories with your loved ones. Whether you're planning an adventurous trip, enjoying a staycation, or simply savoring some quiet moments, we hope your summer is filled with happiness and fun.
Reflecting on the Year
Before we fully embrace the summer, it's important to acknowledge the incredible achievements and growth our students have made over the past year. From academic milestones to personal development, each child has shown remarkable progress and resilience. This would not have been possible without your unwavering support and dedication. Thank you for being an essential part of our community and for fostering an environment where learning and growth thrive.
Summer Activities and Tips
To help you make the most of the summer break, here are a few suggestions and tips:
- Explore the Outdoors: Whether it's a local park, a hiking trail, or a beach, spending time outdoors is a great way to stay active and appreciate nature.
- Reading Adventures: Encourage your children to dive into new books. Reading not only enhances their knowledge but also sparks creativity and imagination.
- Creative Projects: Summer is the perfect time for kids to engage in arts and crafts, music, or any hobby they are passionate about. These activities can be both fun and educational.
- Quality Family Time: Use this break to bond with your family. Board games, cooking together, or simply having a picnic in the backyard can create cherished memories.
- Stay Safe: Remind your children about the importance of safety, whether they're playing outside, swimming, or traveling. Keeping safety in mind ensures a worry-free summer.
Looking Ahead
As we look forward to the next school year, we are excited about the new opportunities and experiences that await. We are committed to continuing our mission of providing a supportive and enriching environment for your children. Your feedback and involvement are invaluable to us, and we encourage you to stay connected and engaged.
A Heartfelt Thank You
Once again, thank you for your continuous support and partnership. It is a privilege to be a part of your children's educational journey, and we are grateful for the trust you place in us. We wish you and your family a summer filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Bon voyage and have a great summer!
ASE students will Learn...Inspire...and Lead...We are ASE!
Thursday, May 23rd
This is a reminder that Thursday is a half-day for students. They will be released at 12:10 p.m. Please make plans to arrive on time for pick-up. We appreciate your efforts on this last day of school!
Parking on Campus
If you have school business to attend to during the day, please use our large side parking lot where the faculty parks after 8:10 a.m. There are designated 15-minute spots for your convenience. This parking location is best especially after 2:00 p.m. since the front Parent Drive becomes congested with cars lining up for dismissal.
Student Council Pet Drive
Our Student Council pet donation drive was a huge success. We thank you for your generosity!
Safety in Parent Drive
Please do NOT use your cell phone in Parent Drive. Distracted driving is unsafe around children. We thank you for your cooperation with this safety issue.
Library Books
We ask that your student returns all library books this week! It is important to clear all student accounts before we leave for the summer.
School Supply Drive
Since 1998 many FBISD elementary schools have elected to do the easiest service project in the world! FBISD students have provided used school supplies to thousands of children in Reynosa, Mexico. Every summer, volunteers from Christ United Methodist Church go on a mission trip to Reynosa and work with over 800 children from impoverished homes. These children do not have the luxury of owning school supplies. The leftover crayons, scissors, and glue that we take for granted would be greatly appreciated by both the children and their parents in Mexico. The items that are needed are as follows:
· Pens/pencils/map pencils
· Erasers
· Crayons
· Scissors
· Rulers
· Notebook paper
· Markers
· Glue
· Backpacks
· Pencil bags/boxes
· Compositions notebooks
· Pocket folders
· Binders
· Spirals
If you would be interested in assisting with this service project, please have your child deposit his/her used school supplies in the boxes by the library (we take new supplies too!) We will pick up the boxes on Friday, May 24th from 9am to 11am.
Student Awards Ceremonies
Our end of year student award's ceremonies are quickly approaching. Please make plans to come see your child during this special event on campus. Times are included below and see the edited time for Kindergarten.

Counselor Corner
A commitment is a sacrifice that you make to do something that you care about. It can be made with others or with yourself. It can be made in a formal or informal manner. At school, a commitment is an act or activity that you intend to perform in a certain manner. Usually, when people make commitments, they are making an effort to do something that they would typically not do. Being committed to something helps you grow as a person and strengthens your character. Some commitments may be hard, while others are easier. Commitment is making a plan and putting it into practice.
Tips for Home:
1. Have them help take care of the pets. Whether it’s caring for farm animals, a family cat or dog, or even a fish, the daily responsibilities of animal ownership certainly teach commitment. Helping to care for an animal can really help develop character. It may be hard work, but they will learn the importance of committing to the end.
2. Offer regular challenges. We must master the fine art of encouraging kids just beyond what they think they can do. Perhaps that’s asking them to complete a difficult math problem, asking them to read challenging books or taking them to volunteer in the community. Challenges help us grow and they help us realize we can do hard things.
Students Honored
On May 11th, 2024, four 4th grade ASE students who had qualified from the Math League Gulf District Championship participated in the 2023-2024 Texas State Championship at Corpus Christi, TX. All Dalmatians performed well and finished top 15 in the contest:
- Jeremy Han (2nd Place)
- Arnav Saitwal (4th Place)
