Message from the Principal
Dear Red Hawk Families,
I am so honored to be on this year long journey with you. They say that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. August marked that first step for us as a school family; and so far, it has been great. In August alone, students have met their teachers, made new friends, practiced drills, learned school-wide procedures, and gained new skills. We also celebrated our school with our first fundraiser of the year at Peter Piper Pizza!
Pizza with the Principal was a great success! Our students came together to play games, eat pizza, and even dance! Many thanks to the teachers, staff, parents, and students who came out to support the event. If you were unable to make it, don’t worry, there will be more throughout the year.
As we continue this journey together, I look forward to connecting with each of you and supporting our children to be the best leaders and artists they can be. Have a wonderful September!
Love,
Principal Humphries

SELF-AWARENESS

SOCIAL AWARENESS
RESPONSIBLE DECISION MAKING
Discover strategies to support your child at home with their social emotional learning!
Empathy in Action
Skills targeted: Empathy, Perspective-Taking
How to try it: Spend some time watching a show or movie. At any given time, pause and discuss how the characters are feeling. You might ask: “How are they feeling?” and “How would you feel if that happened to you?” Use this conversation to build on considering how others feel, discussing social cues, and caring about their emotions.
