This month teachers will be looking for students that show kindness. Kindness is the ability and willingness to express care and compassion for others. Kindness is a choice to use our time, talent, and resources to better the lives of others and the world through genuine acts of love, compassion, generosity, and service.

Please help help our community and those in need by purchasing items off of this list. Donation boxes are located in the office, outside of Mrs. Downs room, and in the Library!

To try out for MMS Cheer, you must attend the Cheer Clinics Monday-Wednesday February 26-28 from 3:30-5:00. Tryouts will be Thursday, February 29th from 5:00-8:00. If you have questions, please contact Head Cheer Coach, Jamie Moses at jmoses@usd263.org.

The League Spelling Bee is Thursday, February 29th in Clearwater starting at 4:00pm.

MMS is now offering the following clubs after school. Any MMS student is welcome to join as long as they are in good standing. Please have a ride arranged ahead of time so you can be picked up on time!

Monday: Potato Club---This is a social club to hang out, talk, and play games, like hot potato! This club meets after school until 3:45pm in Ms. Powell's room each week.

Thursday: Chess Club---This club will meet in Ms. Gowdy's room after school until 4:00pm each week.

Friday: Dungeon & Dragons Club---Meets in Ms. Gowdy's room after school until 4:30pm each week with Mr. Downing.

Did you know that students involved in clubs and/or activities tend to have higher academic performance and improved life skills (such as communication, problem-solving, & teamwork)? We would like to offer more opportunities for students to be involved here at MMS. If your child has an idea for a club they can email hparrott@usd263.org with the following information:

• What will you do/What will you call the club?
• Find a sponsor (an adult in our building that is willing to supervise)
• Find a location (classroom, library, etc.) & state the time (maximum of 1 day a week after school...nothing after 4:30pm).

A couple things to keep in mind:

1. The club must be school appropriate & school rules must be followed at all times
2. All participants must be in good standing (attendance, grades, behavior)
3. Anyone at MMS can join--if in good standing (6th-8th grade)
4. You must have a ride arranged immediately after the club ends.
