We will continue to use our social distancing, washing hands, and wearing masks (for all but the picture), to keep everyone healthy and safe as we take school pictures in November. Please see the dates and cohorts below.

November 2nd- TK, K, and 1st - Both A and B Cohort / 2-6 Cohort A and All of RVC

November 6th - 2-6 Cohort B, Preschool, and Staff

More details will come about times for each group during the day. There will not be makeup dates this year for your child to be included in the class composite picture. Please make every effort to get your child to school on their day.

Our beloved Sheryl Murphy started her adventure at Parker Whitney in 1988 by volunteering. She continued as a staff member for the last 30 years. On December 1st, she is hanging up her lanyard and retiring. We would like to show her our appreciation, and how much we will miss her by collecting mementos and having a goodbye parade.

The parade is on Thursday Nov. 12th at 3:15 p.m. in the Parker Whitney bus loop. Please feel free to decorate cars, bring cards, notes, etc. There will be a wagon to drop them off in as you drive through the loop and wish her cheer.

With decades at Parker Whitney come lots of wonderful memories. Please help me capture them for her in a scrapbook. You may email me your notes of appreciation, letters, pictures and memories to mcarreras@rocklinusd.org Please make the subject line Sheryl. You may also drop them off in the front office to put in my box. I will print them out and make a scrapbook for her.

The Book Fair looks a little different. We are virtual this Fall as opposed to in person but we still get to support the library and we still get to buy new books for the kids.

The Virtual Book Fair will be accessible through our Parker Whitney website from Sunday, November 8th through Saturday, November 21st. Any purchases will be shipped directly to your homes, or whatever address you choose. Shipping will be free for book only orders in excess of $25.00. Orders will be shipped approximately 5 - 7 business days after the order is placed.

Shop between those dates and our library will earn 25% of the purchase price (minus tax) in Scholastic Dollars that will allow us to shop the Scholastic catalogue that has allowed us to purchase new books for our library.

Your child's teacher has emailed the sign up and details for scheduling your Parent/ Teacher Conference.

Students' spirit shirts went home this week. We are so grateful to our PTC for purchasing one for each student. Thank you!

If you ordered and extra student shirt or a parent shirt, please stop by the office to pick it up anytime from 8:30 to 4 with the exception of 1:50-2:10. The shirts are $5 and can be paid for with cash or with check made out to Parker Whitney PTC.

RVC Special Instructions for student and parent shirt pickup: On Monday, November 2nd when you come for pictures, the school secretary will have a table outside of the library setup to assist with this. The extra or adult shirts are $5 and can be paid for with cash or with check made out to Parker Whitney PTC.
