Child Development Associate credential
Westside Early Childhood Center’s will provide financial assistance for employees pursuing a Child Development Associate (CDA). Eligible employees must meet the following guidelines:
- employed with WECC for minimum of 6 months
- no disciplinary actions in the past 6 months
- work 30+ hours per week
T.E.A.C.H Early Childhood Scholarship
Westside Early Childhood Centers (WECC) partners with the Nebraska Association for the Education of Young Children (NeAEYC) to sponsor the T.E.A.C.H Early Childhood scholarship.
NeAEYC provides a scholarship to qualified teachers to work towards attaining an Associates or
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education.

The Centers are closed for Memorial Day, Juneteenth, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day. Employees working twenty hours a week or more, who have completed their 90-day orientation period, and are scheduled to work will be paid for the above named holidays.
Childcare Discount
Employees of WECC who are actively and regularly scheduled are eligible to receive up to a 50% discount on child care tuition and are not charged the registration fee. Employees may use WECC services at a discount with program and classroom availability with the child being under legal guardianship of the employee.

Training/Inservice
First Aid & CPR
First Aid and CPR Certification trainings are conveniently held throughout the year. The course includes training for managing a blocked airway, rescue breathing for infants and children, and CPR.
Professional Development Days
Professional Development Days are set aside specifically for the purpose of providing training that supports team members professional growth. Topics like: Curriculum, Assessment, Pyramid/PBIS, Trauma, Diversity, Engaging with children, Nature play, and more...

Pyramid Module Training
Pyramid Model - Module Training: evidence-based practices for promoting young children’s social and emotional development. A series of 6 trainings to learn how to implement the Pyramid Model in your classroom or group learning setting.
PD in the PM
The WECC Professional Development Committee has coordinates with WECC staff, WCS staff, community members, and more to bring our staff PD in the PM. Training opportunities are offered throughout the school year in short afternoon sessions.

Mission Statement: The mission of the Westside Early Childhood and Before and After School Programs is to provide a safe, engaging educational environment for children ages eighteen months through sixth grade. The program offers developmentally appropriate opportunities for children to grow and develop socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically with the support and guidance of competent and compassionate adults.
