RHTA STEAM School Grades 3-8
School and Enrollment Information
Before Applying
Application Process
There are 4 parts to this application process for students going into grades 3-8. Students entering grades 9-10 do not need to apply and should just select STEM classes when registering for core (Math, Science, ELA, and Social Studies) classes. (For example STEM ELA 9 or STEM Algebra 1)
- Online Application (including parent assessment) due March 1st.
- Teacher Assessment (sent to current teacher)
- Design Challenge for applicants to complete on March 14th. (Sessions available from 4-7 pm.) Attendance required. Please save this date. A sign up will be sent out on March 4th via email.
- Parent attendance at informational meeting on March 14th during student design challenges.
We do not allow potential students or parents to shadow during the school day but we will be having a Community Open House on January 18th from 5 pm- 7 pm to tour the school, learn more about our curriculum, and hear from our learners and coaches.
In addition to this, we highly encourage you to view our Twitter account @NRCSStem.
Upon completion of this application, an assessment will be sent to your child's current teacher and an email will be sent to you with the next step of the process. The application will be routed to STEAM principal, Melissa Durkin.
Selection Process
All applications received will be rated based on the essential characteristics of STEAM schools and not on academic ability.
Due to the increased enrollment in the North Ridgeville City Schools and building capacity throughout the district, new open enrollment for students who do not live in North Ridgeville is extremely limited. We do not anticipate any open enrollment will be available for the upcoming school year. Open enrollment (students residing outside of the city of North Ridgeville) will only be considered if there are spots available after residents are accepted. There are additional steps that open enrollment applicants will have to complete to apply for district enrollment if they are accepted to attend RHTA.
Notification letters will be emailed no later than May 1st. When students accept enrollment at Ranger High-Tech Academy they must attend for the entire 24-25 school year.
Return Applications
