Christmas Toy Giveaway
Do you need some help, this year, with Christmas Gifts for your children? Join us for the 17th Annual Handsful of Hope Toy Giveaway. This toy drive is focused for children in grades K-3, and your family has already been registered to participate. You are NOT obligated to attend.
The event details are as follows:
When- December 16th, 10AM-Noon
Where- James and Rosemary Phalen Leadership Academy
4352 N. Mitthoefer Rd.
Each family will be able to pick out one big toy and one little toy. Please bring identification. This is a private event, for PLA@PromisePrep scholars only. Please do NOT bring other children to the event, for the toys will be limited. There will also be activities for the children to participate in while you are shopping. We ask that you bring another adult with you to help supervise your children while you are shopping.
If you have any questions, or would like more information, please email handfulsofhope@yahoo.com, and a response will follow.
Arrival and Dismissal reminders
It is about that time of the year that people start to go astray from the arrival and dismissal procedures. Please take a moment to refresh yourself of the procedures. Please share with family members and friends if they participate as well.
Arrival starts at 8:50AM. If you arrive before 8:50AM, please stay in your car. When arriving to school, please form a line in the front of the building, facing Lawrence Central High School. Please leave the scholars, in your car, until school staff opens the doors. If you need to park and enter the building, for any reason, please park in the row opposite the doors(closest to 56th St). Do not park in the rows by the building. Sometimes we have food service delivery trucks that need those spots, so they will not block the normal flow of traffic.
Dismissal starts at 3:25PM. Again, just like arrival, please enter the lot facing the High School. A school staff member will approach your car. Please tell them the scholars you are picking up, and they will radio the front office for them to come to the car. Again, please stay in your car. If you need to enter the building, please park in the row opposite the building, leaving the spots by the building open for the buses. Again, this will keep them out of the car rider line, and won't hold things up. Please make sure your scholars are picked up, no later than 3:40PM
If you have any questions, please reach out to the front office.
