LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Bright Beginnings' Families:
It's Read Across America week! Thank you to all of our teachers and students that took the time to dress up and celebrate reading. Reading as an activity at home is the number one thing that you can do to help your child prepare for Kindergarten.
This month, we will have a long break for Spring Break. Please consider utilizing our Monthly calendar suggestions to keep your child learning and engaged.
Please take advantage of the Kindervisit times that we have planned with our respective feeder schools. This will give you and your student a chance to mentally prepare if you are transitioning to Kindergarten next year.
Kindergarten transition includes some critical dates for families that impact your choice of elementary school. Please make sure to watch our FaceBook page and Talking Points messages so that you can insure you complete enrollment for next year on time.
Please remember, we will no longer be offering split enrollment in both Child Care and Pre-K classrooms next year.. This is due to the difficulty of transitioning and staffing adequate support for students.

A NOTE FROM MISS MELYSSA
Wow what a difference in your kiddos from the beginning of the year to now! They have been learning how to be part of a school family and be a helpful friend. Using their "Big Voice" in assertiveness allow them to share what they like and don't like within their day. Also, allowing them to listen to others as they do the same. This skill is linked to class expectations in the classroom to help each other do their best. This book called Sophie's Big Voice is a great read aloud. Click on this link to watch with your child.
I encourage your family to add this "I Love You Ritual" called "Twinkle Little Start" to your daily activities. I wonder what other types of songs and games you already play that are similar.
Continue doing the "good stuff" with your kiddos and I hope these little tidbits allow us to shift a bit and add in a different way to learn with children.
We are excited to offer an invitation to you that focuses on you! An online course called the Powers of Resilience: Social Emotional Learning for Adults through Conscious Discipline, which is the foundation of social emotional learning here at Bright Beginnings. Please see more information below if you are interested in learning more about this opportunity.
Well wishes to you all this March!
Thank you being a part of our Bright Beginnings Family.
