Meet Our Student Teachers
Hosting student teachers is an important job of a school. Student teachers are teachers in training and I believe having an effective host teacher and host school is vital to becoming a successful teacher. At Ridgeway we have many outstanding educators that provide wonderful learning opportunities for students. We have four student teachers joining us for the spring semester. Please take a moment to read a bit about them below!
Unit A - Ms. Blades
Hi! My name is Athena Wheeler! I am student teaching with Ms. Blades! I am a student at Columbia College pursuing elementary education. In my free time, I enjoy hiking and spending time with family! I am so excited to be working with your child!
Unit A - Mrs. Horn
Hello! My name is Lainie Lewis and I am student teaching in Mrs. Horn’s room. I am completing an elementary education degree at Columbia College. I love spending my time playing all sorts of games and shopping!
Unit A - Mrs. Mincke
Hello, my name is Kaila Perry. I will be student teaching with Mrs. Mincke this semester! I go to school at Columbia College to pursue an Elementary Education Degree. On the weekends I like to go outside (when the weather permits) and spend time with my friends and family!
Ms. Tinsley - Music
Hello! My name is Ms. Tinsley and I will be helping out in music class! I’m a 5th year student at the University of Missouri studying Music Education and Psychology. I’m so excited to work with your students and make music for the next couple of weeks. I’m very lucky to be apart of this team and to be learning from Ms. Meeds!
Unit Notes
Unit A
We hope you had a wonderful relaxing break. Unit A has spent the week focusing on routines and procedures. Just a reminder about coats, hats and gloves. These should be sent with your child each day. Something helpful that we have seen is when your child’s hat and gloves stay inside of their coat (sleeve, pockets) and the coat stays inside of your child’s backpack. Thank you for taking extra time to ensure this happens 😊
Unit B
We hope you enjoyed break! We had a fun short week catching up and brushing up on classroom routines. Munch-n-read was a success. Please remember to send your student with a coat each day. Leaving gloves, hats, and scarves in your student’s backpack is helpful for the extra cold days. Unit B has snack time each day. Please remember to send a snack with your student. We are running low on our extra snacks for those who sometimes forget to bring one to school. We appreciate snack donations!
Unit C
Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make Biz Town such a success! Students had a great time and learned so much! Thank you to all of our families who came and picked students up after the normal time. We appreciate everything you all do to support us!!
