The Viking Spotlight is the part in my weekly newsletter used to highlight and celebrate our students and staff anytime we can! If you would like your child acknowledged for something they have accomplished, whether on campus or off-campus, please feel free to fill out this google form HERE. I'd like to take a minute to recognize and honor any and all Veterans in our Viking Family! Thank you for your service and your sacrifice to keep our country safe! 💓🤍💙

We have 5 days this week before Thanksgiving break! Vikings, what are you doing to ensure all of your classes and assignments are in order so you can relax over break? Maybe for other Vikings, this is your opportunity to catch up on missing assignments? Whichever path is yours, make it happen! Put in the work NOW so you're not struggling later! Remember, you must pass ALL your classes in order to participate in the Promotion ceremony. 8th graders, that means 7 months from now! 7th graders, you're not off the hook...you have more semesters you need to pass! You got this, Vikings! 💛

I'm really excited to end our week with a special event this Friday! The Army National Guard will be landing a Black Hawk helicopter on our campus during lunch on Friday, November 17th! Be sure to come check it out during lunch, but don't worry, during the Rally schedule, we will be hosting a Black Hawk Field Day, where the Army National Guard will have multiple stations for students to explore, including a tour on the helicopter! Thank you to the Army National Guard for this awesome opportunity! Please note: Students on the Non-Privilege List will be unable to attend the field day portion.

Vikings, it is important that we always reach out for support when we need it! In the flyer below, you will see a list of important contacts and numbers, both at MVA and off-campus, if you are ever in a time of crisis and need support! Our Adult Education department invites you to a Career Readiness workshop for parents and adult students. This workshop series will include Job search, Resume writing, Interviewing skills as well as educational programs offered through our Adult Education schools. In an effort to help support our MVA students, we welcome any donations of school supplies and/or money. All funds would go directly to supporting our MVA students in the form of spirit shirts, celebrations, recognition awards, school supplies, and more.
