The Cedar Hill High School Girls Basketball Team lost a hard-fought game (63-61) to DeSoto, last season's Class 6A Runner-Up.

The Lady Longhorns finished 20-13, 10-4 -- third place in District 6A-11. They will face Bryan (26-5) at 6 p.m. tonight in Fairfield, in the UIL Class 6A Bi-District Playoffs. Bryan finished second in District 6A-12, behind former 6A-11 program, Waco Midway.

The bi-district winner will face Garland Sachse or Mesquite in the second round (Area Round) later this weekend. Cedar Hill defeated Sachse in the Area Round last season en route to the Regional Championship Game.

The Cedar Hill High School Boys Basketball Team defeated DeSoto, 52-47, last week to clinch its third trip to the playoffs in the past four seasons.

The Longhorns (21-12, 7-6) will meet the 6A-12 Champion in the first round of the playoffs early next week. At this time, Harker Heights and Pflugerville Weiss are tied for first place.

Cedar Hill will have a final tune-up for the postseason when they wrap up the regular season on Tuesday at Mansfield Lake Ridge (26-6). The Eagles are currently in third place in 6A-11.

McKinlee Butler finished with two goals and an assist -- including the winning goal -- in a 3-2 victory over DeSoto in the Battle of Belt Line.

Butler scored the winning goal on a header, from a Nadia Newsome assist. Kyndall Edwards assisted on Butler's first goal.

Early in the game, Butler assisted Dulce Zapata on Zapata's goal.

In a 7-1 loss to Mansfield Legacy, Butler had the lone goal for the Lady Longhorns (3-9-2, 2-4) on an assist from Zapata.

Cedar Hill will visit Mansfield Lake Ridge (5-6-1, 3-3) to round out the first half of District 6A-11 competition.

The Cedar Hill High School Boys Soccer Team scored a season-high five goals -- all in the second half - of a 5-0 victory over DeSoto. It was the the team's third shutout of the season, and second of District 6A-11 Competition.

Kian Adloo led the way with two goals and an assist, and Andres Escarzaga added two goals. Daniel Fuentes scored a goal as well. Both Ryan Stowe and Gideon Drumm finished with an assist for the Longhorns (2-8-3, 2-2-2).

Cedar Hill played Mansfield Legacy to a scoreless tie, which was the Longhorns' fourth shutout of the season.

The Longhorns and Broncos are tied for fourth place in District 6A-11. If the playoffs started today, Cedar Hill would get the tiebraker due to goal differential.

Cedar Hill will round out the first half of 6A-11 Competition when the Longhorns host Mansfield Lake Ridge (3-9-2, 2-3-1) on Tuesday.

University of Colorado freshman Jadyn Atchison finished with one point and four rebounds in a 90-57 win over Oregon.
