Our curriculum!
The SC classes use an adapted curriculum called enCore! There are a total of 36 units, and those units are banded by grade levels. All of our classes have multiple grade levels. Due to this, some classes might use two units simultaneously. For example, a class might use a unit for kindergarten through second and a different unit for grades third through fifth. Each unit consist of an adapted fiction book and an adapted nonfiction book. It takes six weeks to complete one full unit with three weeks per book.

What we learned last week!
In science, we learned about the three types of rocks, metamorphic, igneous, and sedimentary.
In math, we worked on counting and cardinality with a variety of numbers. Continue to practice counting at home!
What we are learning this week!
In literacy, we will begin week two with our adapted fiction books.
- Ms. Payne will use the books Peter Rabbit and The Jungle Book.
- Mrs. Bassery will use the books Today I Am and The Velveteen Rabbit.
- Mrs. Banks will use the books Jack and the Beanstalk and Today I Am.

This week in science we will be studying different types of weather. Below, you will find a video on how to prepare for tornadoes in your home.
In math, we will be working word problems. Below is a video you can practice at home. You will need a piece of paper and a pencil. Be sure to pause the video to solve the problem.
Visual cooking!
Cooking is an important life skill our students will need to learn. At home, you can use visual recipes to help your child begin learning these important skills!
