Friday Family Update
December 9, 2022
Dear Families,
The students above were recognized this week for displaying the character trait, thankfulness. These students went out of their way to show thankfulness to their peers and teachers. We are so lucky and proud to have so many role models here at PRES. Keep up the amazing work.
Also this week, students excitedly shopped for their special people during our Snowflake shop. You could hear the excitement as students finally found the perfect gift for their loved ones.
Lastly, staff participated in a Stop the Bleed training during our staff meeting. The training was conducted by First Responders from Dighton. Our staff learned a lot of life saving techniques. We are thankful to our presenters and to the information they shared with us.
If your child does not have a winter coat or winter weather gear, and the school can assist with this, please contact Mrs. Kefor, Principal at kkefor@drregional.org or by phone at 508-252-5100.
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us anytime. We are happy to help. have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kristine Kefor, Principal

PRES Spring MCAS Schedule
This spring, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) will hold spring MCAS testing for PRES students in grades 3 and 4. In case you are unfamiliar with the Commonwealth’s testing system, MCAS (Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System) are standardized tests that are taken by all students in Massachusetts who attend public schools. MCAS tests are administered in English Language Arts and Mathematics for students in Grade 3 and 4.
We are sharing the MCAS testing dates with you since student attendance during testing sessions is extremely important. We thank you in advance for making every effort to limit time out of school during the MCAS testing window. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me.

Take a Peek at Our Week!
This Month's Lunch Menu
Dear Palmer River Families and Friends,
I hope you are faring well with all the ailments circulating within our community. It is proving to be a challenging time of year for all ages.
Due to illnesses, we are administering a surprising amount of Tylenol and Motrin this year. Replenishments are taking longer than is customary due to supply and demand. If you would like a small quantity kept here at the school for your learner, please have your pediatrician fax a medication order to 508.252.5110. The parent permission forms are located on all the school’s web pages. These can also be faxed or sent in with your child. Please do not send the medication in the student’s backpacks.
I would also like to emphasize that learners of all ages are having accidents, spills, and a meeting with an occasional puddle. Please send an extra set of clothing in with each student. The Health Office is accepting gently used clothing for these incidents, as well. Packages of new underwear donations are always appreciated.
Thank you all for your support and patience during this busy time of year.

PALMER RIVER BOOK FAIR
Monday-Friday, December 12-16
Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become Bolder, Prouder, and Stronger Readers. AND—as always—every book they buy earns rewards for our school.
This year, students will have the opportunity to shop the Book Fair once during their weekly scheduled library time. The Book Fair will also be open during parent/teacher conferences so that families can shop together: Wednesday, December 14th 4:30-7:00 pm and Thursday, December 15th 12:30-4:00.
E-Wallet
