Board of Education News & Notes

The Flemington-Raritan Regional Board of Education held a regular meeting, via Zoom, on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. Below is a recap of the meeting:

• All agenda motions were approved: Agenda.
  
• Dr. McGann shared her Superintendent's Report which is linked here.
  
• A presentation on spring athletics was shared. Our Athletic Director and two coaches discussed the various ways our athletes are staying competitive and engaged during our school closure. A step challenge is underway and students are racking up step counts to claim a team victory.

The Board accepted Superintendent McGann's recommendation to promote the 8th-grade students of J.P. Case Middle School who have successfully completed required courses of study. The Board of Education shares its sincere congratulations, best wishes for success in high school, and gratitude for the students' many contributions to the District. Congratulations to the Class of 2020!

The Board presented the following new policies for a first reading:

• P 3421.13 - Postnatal Accommodations
• P 4421.13 - Postnatal Accommodations
• P 7243 - Supervision of Construction (M)

The Board adopted the following revised policies and regulations:

• P 8210 - School Year
• P 8220 - School Day (M)
• P 8462 - Reporting Potentially Missing or Abused Children (M)
• P 8600 - Student Transportation (M)
• R 8600 - Student Transportation (M)

An (M) denotes a state-mandated policy/regulation. Revisions to our online policy/regulation manual will be completed this week. All Board policies and regulations are available online here.

The Board of Education meets again on Monday, June 8, 2020. An Executive Session will be held from 5-6:45 p.m. to discuss the Superintendent's Evaluation. No action will be taken. The regular meeting will begin at 7 p.m. via Zoom.
