Superintendent's Update
Greetings Cadet Nation!
I have always been proud to be a Cadet, but today I feel extra proud! Our Lady Cadet basketball team will continue their season as they enter the playoffs this week. They are tied with Salado for second place. Our Cadet basketball team will return to the playoffs again this year. They will clinch second place with a win over Robinson tomorrow night at Robinson High School.
As we are getting to the end of the regular basketball season, our baseball and softball teams are just getting started! Our baseball teams will scrimmage Clifton tomorrow evening at home. The softball team will scrimmage West at home on Friday, February 9th. The soccer teams are in the middle of their first round. Their game against Harmony last Friday was postponed due to incoming weather. It will be played tonight at MacPeople’s Stadium beginning at 5:30. They will play again tomorrow night against Robinson with the home field advantage. The soccer teams will pay at Lorena on Friday.
The Connally Junior High will perform their one-act play for the community tonight. The performance will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Connally High School auditorium. Please come support of your performers in their production of Ten Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse. The production is sure to entertain you and provide you with valuable information if you are faced with a zombie apocalypse in the near future!
This Friday, February 9th, Connally ISD is hosting a Valentine’s luncheon for senior citizens in our community age 65 and over. Their Italian themed meal will be prepared by our high school culinary club. We have a few performances by our students in daycare all the way through high school. We want to include them in our Connally community and all of the wonderful things our students are learning and accomplishing.
This week is School Counselor’s Week! Our school counselors play a vital role in the social, emotional and academic development of our students. Their role is multifaceted as they assist students with academic planning, social development, and emotional well being in an effort to promote academic achievement. Although school counselors are readily available to assist students in need, they are not to be viewed as personal counselors. However, they are able connect students and parents with counselors and therapists to assist with specified needs and family counseling.
Looking ahead on the calendar, Connally ISD spring break is March 8th-15th, with early release on March 7th. There are only five more intervention days on the following dates:
Friday, February 9th
Friday, February 23rd
Friday, March 22nd
Friday, April 12th
Friday, April 26th
Have a great week!
