Next week we will begin welcoming back hybrid learners from all grade levels. The Westgate staff has been busy preparing for their arrival. We can't wait to see all of our Westgate Wolverines!

During recess, students remain with their class in designated Zones. For inclement weather days, students will remain in their classrooms. Click these links for suggested activities- Outside Recess, Indoor Recess.
Students who are going home for lunch must sign out and in with a staff member. Please click here to access the Home Lunch form.

Virtual Halloween Celebrations
We will celebrate Halloween on Monday, October 26th. This is a remote day for all students and allows everyone to participate equally. We will plan to have students wear costumes in the afternoon if they choose. PTA Room Reps will be coordinating party activities with teachers. Teachers will be sharing more information in the coming week. We will not have a parade given concerns around social distancing. We encourage your child to wear Halloween colors on 10/30 if they choose. Happy Halloween!

Food insecurity is growing across the country and research is showing that 1 in 4 students is unsure of where their next meal will be coming from.
Our District is offering weekly meal bags that have 7 breakfast and 7 lunches. These bags are available for pick up on Wednesdays (see flyer below). During pickup families just need to tell us how many bags they need. We do not ask for names or identification. This program is for all children 18 and under that need food. They do not need to be students at District 25 or live in the village. Children do not need to be in the car during pickup. Bags can be picked up by relatives and neighbors. We will either leave the bag at the school or deliver directly to the family. Feel free to contact Mrs. Buch if you need more information. Our goal is to make sure all our students that need food are receiving it.
The 4th/5th Grade Book Club will be kicking off soon virtually. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
We have a storage pod in our south parking lot. If your child is visiting the Westgate playground during after school hours, please remind them not to climb on the pod. We do not want anyone to get hurt. Thanks!
