Maria Z. Castillo has been selected as the new principal of Cage Elementary School and Project Chrysalis Middle School. Ms. Castillo most recently served as the assistant principal of Deady Middle School. She began her career as a Bil/ESL teacher. She has also been a curriculum instructional specialist, curriculum assistant principal, family involvement coordinator, and a BIL/ESL coordinator in the Houston area

On February 13, 2023, Project Chrysalis was recognized as the #1 Gold Ribbon Middle School by Children at Risk, a non-profit advocacy group, who ranks the top performing schools in the Greater Houston Area! This recognition is a reflection of our students' hard work and our teachers' dedication. We are very proud to receive this award! Way to go Monarchs!

On Wednesday, February 15, we held our first Annual Career Fair. We had various parents, community members, and public service personnel share with our middle school students their professional experiences in their fields. Thank you to all the volunteers and special shout-out to our school counselor, Mrs. Gardner, for planning and organizing this wonderful educational experience for our students.

There will be no school for students on Monday, February 20, 2023, due to Teacher’s Service Day.

Classes will resume on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.

School spirit t-shirts and STAAR WARS t-shirts are in production. We want to have both t-shirts ready for students before Spring Break. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience.

Our annual university trip for 7th grade would traditionally take place in March because we would participate in UT Explore, a university event hosted by the University of Texas, Austin. However, the event was canceled. For this reason, we have moved the trip to the end of May. We would like to share with parents and students the new itinerary and plan for the trip on Thursday, March 2nd at 5:00 pm. hope to see you there!
