Trimester Two in the Rear View
Today marks the end of the second trimester! We are so proud of our students for their perseverance, thankful to our families for their support, and in awe of the unwavering dedication of the Fletcher Elementary staff. It has been quite the ride so far, and even better days are on the horizon.
This week at Fletcher, our School Site Council voted to approve the budget for the 2022-2023 school year. The budget includes significant financial investments in our before/after school literacy acceleration support groups, increasing Visual and Performing Arts instruction, mental health support, and more opportunities for teacher collaboration. These priorities fit perfectly with the feedback from the survey sent out to families back in January. We also successfully completed an earthquake safety evacuation drill. This time our visual paging system worked perfectly. The entire exercise from evacuation to all clear took approximately eight minutes which is right in line with our goal.
Next week is Read Across America Day and teachers will begin working on Trimester Two report cards. Teachers may also start reaching out to schedule student conferences during the week of March 21st-25th or earlier. Be on the lookout for these communications.

Kids Heart Challenge Comes to a Close
Congratulations Falcons! We completed our Kids Heart Challenge and celebrated with a jump-a-thon on the blacktop this morning. The final tabulations aren't in yet, so stay tuned for an update next week on our overall total, highest earning class, and most Finn's missions completed winners. Let's see if we get to turn Mr. Friedenberg into an ICE CREAM SUNDAE!
Student of the Week - Adrian!
This week's Student of the Week is Adrian in Ms. Massion's class. Adrian is a constant in his class. He is constantly showing up with a smile on his face and ready to learn. He is always focused, participating in class, and eager to hold onto any content that is shared. He lends a helping hand, supports his classmates, and constantly showing love. Congratulations Adrian, and thank you for being a phenomenal Falcon!
