Cold and flu season is here!

According to the CDC and the GA Department of Public Health, the most effective way to reduce the risk of seasonal flu and its complications is to get vaccinated each year. Other good habits like avoiding people who are sick, covering your cough, and washing your hands often can help stop the spread of germs and prevent respiratory illnesses like the flu. Thanksgiving Break is right around the corner!

GCPS students will be on Thanksgiving Break from Monday, November 20 through Friday, November 24. We hope our students and school staff have a safe and relaxing Thanksgiving Break. We look forward to welcoming students and staff members back to learning when classes resume on Monday, November 27.

As we enter the winter season, it is important to know what to expect from GCPS in case of inclement weather.

Our Cubs earn Cubby Cash for following “PAWS” at school.

Cubby Cash is awarded when students are: Practicing Good Manners, Actively Participating, Working Together, and Showing Self Control.

Cubs then get to spend their Cubby Cash at the Cubby Cash Store each month!

That diversity is part of what makes our school beautiful, but also makes it challenging to be sure that we can communicate with every parent effectively.

Current translation needs are:

• multilingual help at school events;
• translating small forms for school use.

As we transition from Summer to Fall, we tend to see more issues with asthma and other medical conditions in combination with the common cold.

With that in mind, please remember to bring in emergency medications – such as inhalers, EpiPens, etc. – and complete a Health Management Plan for your student if they have a known medical condition.

You can help provide some “APPINESS” for our Camp Creek Teachers & Staff this holiday season by bringing appetizers and/or desserts for holiday staff appreciation on Friday, December 8.

Suggestions are listed, but feel free to bring your specialty holiday treat. Please make enough to serve 20-25 people.

You will need to drop-off your food at the front office by 9:00 AM on Friday, December 8.
