Bonham Warrior Athletics

It is football time in Texas. We began Fall Camp on Monday, July 31. One of our goals for our athletes this year is for them to become "Physically Harder and Mentally Stronger". We have pushed those limits in the first week and a half of camp. Morning weight lifting/conditioning and afternoon practices have worked our boys harder than they have ever worked in a football program. The Texas heat has not been kind to us, but our boys have responded in a great way.

Our total number of football players sits at 69. The freshman are our biggest class with 27.

Sophomores - 17

Juniors - 14

Seniors - 11

The Purple/White scrimmage was a success. We got out of it heathy and we were able to evaluate our game plans to see where we can better fit our kids into the offensive and defensive systems.

We will host Whitesboro for a scrimmage on Friday, August 11. The JV portion will begin at 6:00 and the Varsity at 7:00.

Please note time changes for some football games this year. ALL home varsity games and ALL district games will kickoff at 7:00.

Our Chief Warham for the year will be freshman Colton Conallis. Colton has been working very hard these last few months. He had perfect attendance during our summer conditioning and has put forth a great effort during fall camp.

During the first week of Fall Camp, our parents fed the boys following practice. Each grade level provided the meal for one evening. We had some parents up every night to help out. I am sure I will miss some but I know Nicole Rhodes, Andrea Lappin, Chris Fugett, Heather Lawson, and Jaclyn Simpson had a lot to do with organizing and feeding the boys, student trainers, and coaches. They gave up time and money to make sure we were taken care off. It is greatly appreciated.

Cross Country practice also began on Monday, July 31. They are hitting the roads hard in preparation for their 3rd District Championship in a row. They are mixing in morning and afternoon practices.

Our football coaching staff is finally complete.

Clay Wilson will be teaching at BHS and will coach Soccer and football

Jordon Outlaw will be teaching at BHS and will coach football and basketball.
