School Wide Focus for November – Habit 3: Put First Things First

Join us for School Spirit Week – Because we are THANKFUL for YOU - our Amazing Timberwolf Students, Families, and Staff!

2nd Timberwolf Talk live on ZOOM on Friday, November 19 at 10:00 am. The topic will be: Supporting your students at home for school success. Our school counselors will lead this interactive session. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP (either by replying to this email or by sending me another email at buchhear@pwcs.edu with the subject line: Timberwolf Talk). I will send you the ZOOM Link when I receive your RSVP.

School Spirit Week-Wacky Wednesday Pattern Day – Today is a day to wear stripes, polka dots, Zig Zags, Squiggles, and more – mix those Patterns up.

Thursday, November 18, 2021 - Day 1

School Spirit Week- Vocabulary Word Day – Dress as a favorite word. It can be as simple as putting a sign on your shirt with your word of the day or dressing up as your word. What would celebration look like? What would precipitation look like? Be creative as you want. Only Appropriate words for school.

Leader in Me Info for November – Habit 3: Put First Things First

The idea of “Big Rocks” is a key concept of Habit 3: Put First Things First®. When we schedule our Big Rocks (the most important tasks and activities) first, it keeps us from allowing our small rocks (less important tasks and activities) to take all our time. This keeps us focused on our roles, goals, and tasks. When we schedule our Big Rocks first, we ensure our most important things get done. Use the questions below to engage your child in a conversation:

· What are your most important activities?

· What are your other, less important activities?

· How could you spend more time on your Big Rocks?

· What are some of the small rocks that get in the way of spending time on your Big Rocks?

The Top 3 of the week

1. Masks- Please remember that PWCS (and state of Virginia) required Universal Masking for all our students, staff, and visitors while in the building. We are following the state and county requirement of Universal Masking. Click link to view the mask requirements. Please remind your students to wear a mask each day. The Prince William Health Department and PWCS recommend but do not require masks during outdoor recess or indoor PE. If your child chooses to remove his or her mask during Indoor PE, please have him/her let the PE teacher know. Here is the Definition of Mask: A mask is a face covering that covers your nose and mouth (hereinafter, mask or face covering). The CDC provides the following guidance on effective masks:

· Have two or more layers of washable, breathable fabric; and
· Completely cover your nose and mouth; and
· Fits snugly against the sides of your face and don’t have gaps; and
· If using neck gaiter or a fabric face covering, wear a gaiter with two layers, or fold it to make two layers.
· Persons wearing a mask with an exhalation valve or vent will be asked to utilize a disposable mask provided at no charge.

2. Daily Home Screening - Parents/guardians/caregivers are asked to complete this screening each morning prior to a student boarding a school bus or arriving at school. On the Daily Home Screening webpage, they have also included information about how to make decisions about sending a student to school if he/she has been exposed to another person with COVID-19.Questions about the student daily home screening can be directed to Mrs. Ousley, our school nurse.

3. Medicine – All medicine needs to be dropped off by a parent/guardian to our school office. Students are not allowed to bring medicine into the building themselves.
