Week of August 21, 2023
Moore Street School Lead Learner's Address:
Greetings To Each Of You:
Congratulations to Mr. Maurese Stanley and Mr. Willie Linder for being named Teacher of the Year and Support Staff of The Year respectively for Moore Street School for the 2023-2024 school year! (pictured below)
Congratulations to Damon Rice and Avery Kinsey for having the highest lexile scores for high school and Sahara Nelson for having the highest lexile score for middle school. Congratulations to Alesha Cobb and Damon Rice for having the highest quantile scores for high school and Lil'Rubye Sanders for having the highest quantile for middle school. (picture below)
We are excited about our baseline student data and eager to see the growth our students will make over the next few weeks. Ask your students to share their quantile and lexile scores and to explain exactly what they mean. Every student should be able to have meaningful conversations about their data. We will be administering the BEACON assessment for student in grades 6-8 this week. Please encourage your child to do his/her best. Remember this assessment is a predictor for the Georgia Milestone Assessment.
Parents please remind your son/daughter about our dress code: hoods, tights and slides are NOT permitted.
Save The Date: Our next Family Engagement Activity is "Math Night" scheduled for 9/11/23 @5:00 p.m. More information and a flyer will be posted at a later date.
We have filled one of the two parent positions on our Local School Governance Team.
If you are looking for a chance to partner with Moore Street School (MSS) we have the perfect opportunity for you. We still have one parent position available. This is a great way to be directly involved with what is going on at MSS. Your voice matters. If your are interested please contact the school 478-353-8400.
Our Evening School Program (ESP) is up and running. ESP is great for remediation, enrichment, and attendance recovery. Evening School hours are Monday and Friday Asynchronous (virtual) and Tuesday-Thursday in person from 2:30-6:00.
Parents, if you haven't returned the student information packets please do so as soon as possible.
If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to reach out. Again the phone number is 478-353-8400. We are here to serve. Thank you for being a valuable part of our Dublin City School (DCS) family.
