Chester Elementary School
May 1, 2023. A Year of Significance!
CES Happenings
Dear CES Family,
It's May and Spring is officially here! I could end right here and that would be enough. We've been waiting a long time. Before I move on I'd like to offer a special note of thanks to Tanya Miller for putting on the CES Talent Show that took place last Thursday night. She was the driving force behind a special night for many of our students.
Just six week remain in the school year and there are lots of items on the calendar as we wrap up. You need to know that next week we start our state testing for grades three through six. Please help by making sure that your students get plenty of rest and a good meal in the morning. The data from these test will help us with our decision making processes for students for the 23/24 school year.
By the way, the flower in the picture is from our "Kindergarden" thanks to the efforts of Mrs. Bainbridge and her students. I hope you have an incredible weekend.
Sincerely,
Scott Cory
Principal

School Safety and the STOPit Rollout
The Plumas Unified School District has launched a school safety measure called STOPit. An app-based effort, students have the app available to them on their Chromebooks. Click on the picture to learn more. We will show an instructional video to all students and staff at our next Monday Morning Meeting.
Mountain Kid Messenger / April
Here it is: the April edition of the Mountain Kid Messenger. This got lost in the shuffle prior to the Easter vacation, but that doesn't mean that it's any less worth reading! Great information about what our students are learning regarding outdoor education, but also great information that loves the outdoors. Enjoy!
We are hiring! CES has an amazing educational team. We have been very fortunate to hire some great staff recently, but we still have immediate openings for the following positions:
- Nurse/LVN (full time, Chester/Greenville)
- English Learner aide (2 hrs./day)
