Happy Springtime! 💐 Here at AVA, we continue to learn together by noticing what matters to students, posing meaningful questions, making sense of our world, and working to transform it. As you know, we value a real love of learning, curiosity, experimentation, our community, integrity, sustainability, and inclusion. Enjoy our latest newsletter, and keep exploring!

• What words can you use to describe what the crystals look like to your eyes and through the magnifying glass?

• Crystals form larger when they form slowly. How could you make the water cool down slower?

Due to a shortage of buses, we needed to reschedule our field trip to the Exploratorium with K-6 grade students. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility. Our new date is May 30, 2023. We'll meet at Alisal Community School and depart at 8:15 AM. If you are interested in chaperoning, please reach out to your child's teacher. It's going to be AWESOME! 😎

I hope you have all seen our AVA surveys that were shared in Google Classroom. Please take 5-10 minutes to complete before April 21. Also, students can earn AVA bucks for answering the questions in the Student Survey! Thank you.

Our final in-person AVA assessment week will be May 16-19, 2023 on the Alisal Community School campus. Students will be taking district and the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) System assessments. Students will be provided snacks and lunch during this important and mandatory in-person assessment week. Please make sure your child is getting a good night’s sleep, drinking plenty of water, and exercising before and after these assessments. Here are some Parent/Guardian resources to explore.

We did it! Congratulations to our K-6 educators for completing the Online and Blended IMPACT program! We are proud of our AVA team for their amazing work over these past 24 weeks.
